Course Lecture Video Service Level Agreement
Please read the agreement below completely and then click on the service agreement checkbox to accept services.
FAS faculty have the option of publishing videos of their course lectures on their course websites through Media & Technology Services (MTS). This Service Level Agreement (SLA) clarifies the terms under which online lecture videos will be made available to faculty, teaching staff, and students on course websites.
Courses that may use this service
Course Lecture Video Services are available to all Harvard College and GSAS classes. However, due to limited resources, not all courses that wish to be recorded can be at this time. Priority is given to courses with higher enrollments. In rare circumstance, MTS may be forced to stop recording a course mid-semester because of technical issues, staff limitations, or other factors beyond our control.
Availability of Videos
Videos for courses will be available within 2-3 business days of the lecture. Videos are accessible to faculty and students via their respective course web site and through the courses tab on the my.Harvard portal page.
Arrangements to record review sessions must be made at least two weeks in advance and are subject to staff availability. Videos will be available within 2-3 business days of the review session.
Response to technical difficulties on course website
The Academic Technology Group is staffed to respond to emergency technical outages during weekday business hours (Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, not including official university holidays). Email ATG at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Creation of Hard Copy Versions of Lecture Video Files
Administrators of course websites can use the Lecture Video Tool to download video files from the server to their computer's hard drive.
Faculty or teaching staff requiring DVDs, lecture video files in custom formats, or post-production services should make arrangements with the Media Production Center (MPC) (email@example.com.) in advance of the recording.
Lecture videos for every course are removed from the server 10 days after the end of the term. If instructors wish to maintain an archival copy, they should download the recordings from the Lecture Video Tool, when the videos are available.
