Video Publishing

This training guide offers a brief explanation of how to manage videos MTS sends to your iSite. This guide references the "lecture videos" tool. On non-course iSites this tool will be called "video publishing" and will have the exact same functionality and controls. Only iSite administrators will be able to make these changes.

  1. Check to see if the "Lecture Video" tool is installed on your iSite. If it is, you will see it listed in the box with the other course topics.

If you do not have the "Lecture Video" tool installed, click on the link labeled "Enter Design View".

Select "Lecture Video" in the Create New Topic Box.

  2. The Lecture Video Publishing Tool will display all the videos that MTS has sent to your iSite. Vides are sorted into different tabs, such as "lecture" and "review". By default, videos must be approved before students can watch them. Videos requiring approval will be highlighted and have an "approve video" button.

NOTE: Videos will appear on this page three to five business days after they are recorded.

  3. It is possible to changes the settings of the Lecture Video Tool so that new videos do not require approval by a site administrator. To make these changes, click on the pencil to edit the Lecture Video Publishing Tool. Then click on the "collection preferences" button.

Locate the settings in a box labeled "Lecture Video Publishing".

There are two checkboxs. The first, "Publish lecture videos to this topic automatically" MUST be checked for media recorded by MTS to be linked to your iSite. The second checkbox, "New auto-published videos must be approved by a site administrator" determines if videos need to be approved before being viewable to students. When this box is checked, videos will require approval. When this box is unchecked, videos will automatically be viewable to students as soon as they are processed.
