Suggested Windows XP Laptop Display Settings

Selecting our suggested display settings on your PC laptop will reduce the risk of issues when connecting to MTS projectors.

  1. Setting the correct resolution:
    1. Right-click with the mouse on your desktop and select "Properties" from the drop down menu.
    2. Click on the "Settings" tab.
    3. Move the "Screen resolution" slider to "1024 by 768 pixels".
    4. Make sure that "Color quality" is set to "Highest (32 bit)".
    5. Click on the "Apply" button.
  2. Setting the correct refresh rate:
    1. From the "Display Properties" screen click on the "Advanced" button
    2. Click on the "Monitor" tab
    3. Under "Monitor settings" assure that your "Screen refresh rate" is set to "60 Hertz"
    4. Click on the "OK" button
  3. Setting the correct screen saver and power saving settings:
    1. From the "Display Properties" screen (pic #1) click on the "Screen Saver" tab
    2. Select "None" from the "Screen saver" drop down menu
    3. Click on the "Power" button
    4. Select "Always on" from the "Power schemes" drop down
    5. Set "Turn off monitor", "Turn off hard discs" and "System standby" are all set to "Never"
    6. Click on the "OK" button to close the "Power Options" screen
    7. Click on the "OK" button to close the "Display Settings" screen
