Accessing the Internet in a Classroom
Accessing the Internet in a classroom is no different from accessing the Internet elsewhere on campus. Permanently installed classroom computers and roaming MTS laptops are already setup for Internet access. If you are using your own computer, you will need to register your computer's network card(s) before connecting to a Harvard network for the first time.
Registering your laptop
Use of Harvard's FAS networks requires registration of your computer or other device's network card(s) (wired, wireless, or both as needed). You will need to know the "MAC address" [?] for each of the network cards you plan to register. Please refer to FAS-IT's instructions for finding your MAC address and register at their Auto Registration site.
For non-FAS wireless connections, your web browser will be automatically redirected to a Guest Access page to register on the "Harvard Guest" network, or to the HUID authentication page to register on the "Harvard University" network. You may also contact the FAS-IT helpdesk for assistance at help@fas.harvard.edu or (617)495-9000.
